Having trained in ceramics I am currently making abstract sculptural forms using porcelain and nichrome wire. Nature is a major source of inspiration to me and in these pieces I have been attempting to demonstrate the vulnerability of living organisms to external forces. The materials I use produce stark contrasts in texture and colour; in addition, the tension between the wire and the porcelain combine to produce a partial fragmentation and apparent fragility of the forms.
