Nandhini J Prasad

My work explores the invisible spaces where inner experience meets shared cultural memory. I am drawn to psychological and social borders—the unspoken boundaries that shape identity, belonging, and connection. Through abstract, symbolic forms, I create paintings that function as open conversations rather than fixed narratives, inviting viewers to reflect, pause, and bring their own meanings into the work.

My process is intuitive and responsive. Each painting begins with a gesture, a colour, or a feeling, unfolding slowly through layers of paint and moments of stillness. I pause often, allowing the work to reveal itself rather than forcing resolution. This rhythm of action and reflection creates a sense of movement and transformation, as though the painting exists in a state of becoming.

Inspired by mythology, memory, and lived experience, my work uses fluid forms and shifting colour to suggest transition and dialogue. Ultimately, I hope each piece offers a space for quiet recognition—where viewers encounter not only the artwork, but themselves.
