Composition in Blue is a composition of three pottery vases. The vases are thrown in stoneware clay, they are approximately 8cm in diameter and 15 to 20 cm in height. After firing they have been glazed with a combination of cobalt blue and turquoise high-firing glazes. Thanks to the firing at high temperature these are functional pieces.
Each vase has unique details that makes it stand out as individual, but the three vases are brought together by the colour of the glazes.

Elisa is a studio potter who creates functional thrown pieces in stoneware clay, she takes inspiration for her pieces from nature, organic shapes and Japanese traditional wares.
Elisa is a scientist by profession and pottery is an escape from her very regimented life, so she rarely plans her pieces; she allows the clay to speak for itself and find its own form via her hands.
